Yes, if someone checked it. You are basically committing tax fraud.
You have falsified a declaration. What value did the seller declare on the product on their customs declaration? If there is a discrepancy between the two customs may decide to inspect the parcel, and you will be charged GST and/or duty on their estimated value of the goods - not the value you or the seller claim the goods are worth.
Unless this was a product with duty where the de minimis limit of $60 may apply under the usual $400 threshold, a GBP160 product wouldn't incur GST and/or duty anyway, so I'm not sure what need there was to lie.
I hear many have gone to prison for doing this!

What's that you are saying? You meant to put 160, but when you typed 160, only the 60 got entered and you didn't notice until after you had paid? Being the honest, law abiding person you are, you are now concerned about what impact this may have?
Naturally, you were not trying to take advantage, as, it was below the limit anyway.
Is that a correct summary of the situation?
YouShop lost my package which was coming from US and paid me refund, the cost what you entered as a value. Just to think for you.
As a matter of interest, what happens if you declare more than the price you paid for the goods, but its still below the gst limit ?
I recently ordered two items as they were on sale for $99 instead of $149. Presumably I should enter $199 ($99x2). If they get lost I would get $199 back, which is perfectly reasonable, but replacing them would cost $300, unless I just wait patiently for another sale (hopefully nothing will disappear and I won't have to worry).
