I'm wondering if I could get something locally rather than sourcing the "proper" replacement which will undoubtedly cost dearly.
I'm no expert on these things but it says 5.1 V 2.4A. Does anyone know where I might get something that would do the trick for a reasonable price please?

Have you tried calling Jaycar? They may have something in that line? Might have to do some modifications to it though, in terms of plug etc.
