Hey Guys, I have recently signed up to geekzone. Enjoying the chats and discussions.

But its like 5am now, I'm Laying in bed watching Aly G . And this AMAZING business idea just crossed my mind. lol

Dont ask me how it concerns Aly G lol

But anyways I thought I'd try geekzone in hope of some good ideas to help me.

Question are :

If I have a busniness idea, How do I go about it?

Where do I go to?

I see like people on Tv going to other business's telling them about their idea's. But who are those people?

Do they sponser the idea? Or actually Buy the idea off you?

I'm hoping to get all the help I can.

Thanx in advance :)

Welcome to Geekzone, and yes I was about to ask, Ali G and business idea just don't seem to go together.

Well there are plenty depending on where you are, where I am in Canterbury there is the Chamber of Commerce that can guide you.

Depends entirely on whjat your business idea is

Since you didn’t tell us them I’m presuming it is some sort of innovation or invention.

If so, first check that it doesn’t already exist – search the patent office, or even just google search for it to see if anyone is already selling it. If it doesn’t exist, then you will need to patent it.  Otherwise (if it is a good idea) people will just steal it. For that you will need detailed plans and descriptions of what it is.

Once you have done that you can either go into business yourself (big up front cost, risk if it doesn’t take off, but potentially very high returns) or try and sell the idea or licence it to a company that might be interested.  Less risk, but obviously less returns.

If you decide to do it yourself you will probably find the bank is your first port of call.  You will probably need to borrow money to get it started and banks have business advisory services (which are sometimes free) which can help you put together a business plan
