Tickets for Wellytech 2018 are now available: https://wellytech.accessgranted.nz/

I've got mine. Anyone else going? I'm keen to stake out a Geekzone corner and put some more faces to names.

If we ask MiramarMike nicely, he might even make sure there is pineapple on the pizzas.

Can someone explain the 'favourite fun fair' question in the registration process. Are we supposed to take that literally, or does it have some hidden meaning?

Theme is a fun fair and people can volunteer to run stalls: https://wellytech.accessgranted.nz/join-in/run-a-stall.

I took this as asking for ideas for the stalls.

Do you reckon we can convince @freitasm to sit on a dunking stool or have cream pies thrown at him?

@neveR:

Have never heard of WellyTech, what is this event?

Up until a couple of years ago we here at Geekzone used to have drinks, sponsored by one telco or another, every year. These were small - 60 - 80 people each time. A couple of years ago we got together with Access Granted Podcast and a group of Wellington-based tech companies to support a large event for the whole industry - not only Geekzone users.

Last year we had it for the first time at the Westpac stadium, with 1,000 people attending. This year we're aiming at 1,500 attendees. Worth to network with the whole industry really...

Also, some Geekzoners from out of Wellington join the event as it is a good chance to meet other people they only ever met online...

It is this weekend folks. I hope quite a few of you registed - there are 1500 registrations so it's a good chance. Looks for some of us there this Friday.
