Personally I think this is a stupid ruling!

Right, i'm all for this one! clear out the trees from my place to my closest tower and i'll be rocking a 4G connection with ease!!
nobody will miss 5KM of dense forestry in the waitaks right? ;)
on a more serious note, seems a tad absurd honestly...
There is a reason we opt for high frequency connections (Bandwidth) and a reason we also opt for low frequency connections (Range and penetration)
Unfortunately it's very true, the likes of compass loose out as they mainly sit in the 2.6 and 3.5ghz bands. But they also don't have every cellphone in the area also loading the sector.

I live next to a bush reserve. It interferes with my TV signal...I'd like it removed.

It's dismemberment (pruning) to trees not death. And in this case the trees are safe, as the judge ruled there was another viable alternative.

Trees are causing ' Interference ' I suggest they look up what ' Interference ' means in Radio terms
So now we have transmitting trees wiping out radio signals causing High I levels?

Finally, trees that do something useful like emitting Wi-Fi signals.
So...they were getting "sub par" internet.... can I claim the same for my Freeview ? Being DVBS its subpar compared to whats out there.... It will involve removing a few dozen houses and digging out a peninsula.

I have that same issue....would just like them topped a few meters...not destroyed.

I saw that headline on the Herald webpage yesterday, and thought to myself, how can trees (obviously outside your house) interfere with WiFi? They can't.
They can interfere with Wireless Broadband, which IMO is not WiFi.
If only the Herald had someone on their staff that could differentiate these things...

Hopefully a lot
