You could safely bet it's in NZ stores too.

 

I used to buy cadmium, small quantities - almost 40 years ago. Would come in pieces a sealed container - I had to weigh it out and calculate based on random weights of the pieces as they came, the quantity of other ingredients that were safe to handle.  I'd be very careful and wear gloves, never cut it etc.  That article said some of the metal jewellery was 90% cadmium.  FFS - not good for people buying the jewellery - but what about the workers in the Chinese factories making crap like that?
