Just thought this is worth a share.

This happened just around the corner of my house - it is the 2nd time they've been broken into with PS4's getting stolen however this time they have a very good UniFi security system. What is even more stupid is there is expensive gaming machines that are worth around $3k a pop too.

Really hoping he gets caught - this is insane...

Obviously not a very clever guy. Maybe some HD cameras would help even more...

The cameras are 1080p UniFi cameras and bare in mind it was dark too. They did a very good job!

i suspect the PS3s are an easy lift and onsell.

Computer requires knowing a little more and risking it being more identifiable.

Plus he would need a bigger hole.....

For a place like this, I cant fathom why there are no;

1) Glass Break sensors (and he was taking glass off his leg for ages before the entry timer even started)

2) No effort to even deter people smashing to grab.

3) Sensor lighting, so at least he clarity of picture is improved.

4) I think a fog cannon would help as well.  These seem to deter people.

He certainly wasn't very smart.

Had their been better cameras there would have been perfectly clear shots of his face.

Looks like he had a stocking over his face, so better cameras may not have made that much difference.

Reminds me of the idiot store manager an ex-boss hired years ago for a retail store. Was all good at the start, then the boss noticed parts going missing.....  had security cameras in the main store but never saw anything unusual. Then came in one day to find pile of parts he'd left on the workbench for a client build gone, so suspected the store manager but couldnt prove anything.

I get a call a few days later from a friend who was working at the shop asking me to look at the DVR for the cameras - he'd tried accessing it because more parts had vanished and found the unit had been factory reset and the drive wiped. I instructed him on how to perform a data recovery and later that day got sent some emails with pictures attached - of the store manager in the shop after hours "shopping". Could see him come in the front door, then stay in the shadows until he got to the workshop where there were no working cameras. Or so he thought. My mate had gotten another camera working which was sitting right on top of the DVR - so theres a nice full frontal of the store manager with screwdriver in hand approaching the DVR to take it apart. Recordings stopped 30s after that.

Cops called, never found him, his own parents lied to the cops though.

Some right scum bags around.

Someone's been playing too much Red Dead Redemption.

Thieves are the worst.  He obviously didn't case the place though by going in one day for a game or two and checking out camera placement.

There's a good chance that the car rego plates will be stolen as well, if you do get them.

I have footage of a car outside my neighbors house who had her car broken into.

The car was a Mercedes with stolen plates.

The crim knew what he was doing somewhat.
Easier to sell off a ps4 than try to sell a gaming rig which would garner attention.

Well the owner has started a givealittle page to get more PS4's in the hub. He runs this more as a hobby and doesn't make anything out of it. It is sad that things like this happen to good people...
