So on both Sat and Sun I was browing stuff.co.nz and randomly I was redirected to a survey that my ISP was supposidly running.... My first thought on Saturday was I had malware so I installed some software we use at work and ran a scan but it came back clean.

I just assumed either the ISP was running a survey which I doubt because why would they hijack my web browsing or stuff.co.nz have some gremlins on their webservers.

I'm at a loss as to whats goign on because it only happens with stuff.co.nz.

ISP is My Republic.

Run an adblocker and see if it appears.

I wouldn't go near Stuff without an adblocker.

I can recommend UBlock Origin.

I assume it's understood some malware scanner/s came up clean doesn't mean the computer is clean. (For that matter if you are going through the router it could theoretically be that.) But anyway as others have indicated more likely if it only happens with Stuff is some dodgy ad that Stuff happened to let through.

Just when you think that Stuff's page can't get any worse they surprise. Perhaps they have given up all hope of going paywall.

Probably a dodgy ad on Stuff, i'd suggest running an adblocker like ublock origin. The "Your ISP is running a survey!" things are pretty common.

Your ISP shouldn't be able to hijack Stuff, as it should all be run over HTTPS these days, unless you click through any bad certificate warnings.

Aaaaah - I had the same experience as OP - maybe last Friday or Saturday. I was on an Apple iMac viewing Stuff via Safari and the browser redirected to a Spark survey (with no back page option). We do receive VDSL via Spark, but this seemed very suss. I re-booted the system and haven't seen it happen again (no, I didn't undertake the 'survey').
