Hi, bought the Grabone service product https://new.grabone.co.nz/house-garden/landscaping/p/harbour-city-tree-care-48

They were advertising 2 options: 4 hours work and 8 hours, after my estimation for cutting 2 trees(not big, I will say between yоung and small size, one is a beginning of the middle size) and trimming(again not a big size) and removing the cuts, I bought 8 hours, thinking the whole day should be enough.

The company called me to agree a day/time to do the job and I was explained that my 8 hours does not work in the way I thought. The time is depending how many people the company will send, if the company send 4 people, they will spend 2 hours and I will pay extra, if they send 3, time is 2 hours 40min and so on.

They told me I was wrong thinking that way, gave me example, 100 people will not work 8 hours for amount I paid, hmmm, right, agreed, But I though I was buying company time, and does not matter how many people the company will send, if the company send 100 people then they will stay 1 min??? and then gone???

My point is Grabone did not explain clearly what I will get buying 8 hours.

Working in an industry where we sell man hours, I am on GrabOne's side of this - 8 hrs is 1 person for 8 hrs - If more people are sent, then time is divided.

And it is written plain as day.

Usually when I call a company and ask for a quote to do some job, the company tells me how much it will cost and how much time they will spend(sometimes), nobody telling how many men will do a job

I agree that the description is unclear, referring to the 'team' and 'they', however the T&C clearly refer to the division of time. So while I think the description could have been clearer, I don't feel the offer, taken ans a whole, and including the T&C you should have read, is in any way misleading.

Not expecting at all, left to company to decide, but thought for 2 people and 4 hours, but bought 8 hours thinking if they need extra time and cleaning waste

I'm very cautious with GrabOne and alike, after couple similar issues.

couple years ago, purchased couple tickets to Wellington Phoenix game at Eden park. I thought it was good deal. something like $20-$30 all up. But seats allocation was pretty bad, like behind goals in the corner. I'd though, I'd check normal ticket price and in the middle with perfect view - $17 per adult. I was yelling like an old fart, contacted GrabOne, they pointed me to TnC's which stated section number and they refused to refund and told me to read TnC's next time.

So yeah... I check everything now before click BUY NOW.

That's when you ask for a quote. The company knows how many people they will send to a job so they can price accordingly.

You didn't ask for a quote in this case.
