Was brought up on the Boss Black Sauce now it seems to have disappeared. Lea & Perrins is ok but the rest don't cut it.
Anyone know what happened, is it going to come back??
First World issues I know

Delmaine still make it
https://www.delmaine.co.nz/products/boss-worcestershire-sauce
The main difference between this and other sauces compared to the Lea & Perrins Worcestshire Sauce is that Lea & Perrins has anchovies in its ingredients. This is the ingredient that makes it so much better than anything else.

ewwww too salty, but we do add it some cooking. I prefer Boss as a sauce
I searched for the "Spicy" which they seem to no longer make. However struggling to find where I can buy this, maybe had a bust up with some of the Supermarkets.

I got some wildwestworster.co.nz sauce when I was last at the food show. I don't have much use for it in every day cooking, but it seems ok. I prefer Lea and Perrins

Anchovies are delicious. It's sometimes surprising the dishes they improve the flavour of.
My favourite use for anchovies is ikan billis

Anchovies are delicious but not on their own (unless they are fresh in which case they are amazing!). I *highly recommend dropping 1-2 into any stew or casserole. They just melt and the flavour they add isn't identifiable.

Another main difference is that Boss is basically sugar, regulators and preservatives. Whereas Lea & Perrins is all natural.
Lea & Perrins for me every time.
Boss ingredients: Water, Treacle, Apple Puree (apples, ascorbic acid), Salt, Acidity Regulators (260, 330), Sugar, Spices, Colour (150c), Tamarind, Cornflour, Blackpepper, Mustard, Preservative (202), Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Chilli Powder.
Lea & Perrins ingredients: Distilled white vinegar, anchovies, garlic, molasses, onions, salt, sugar, water, chili pepper extract, cloves, natural flavorings, tamarind extract
I might have to buy some L&P sauce in the next shop. I've been slumming it with Pams for a while, lol. Pams is ok, not as good as L&P but it's half the price.

It would be nice if their site had a "where to buy"!
I also noticed that my local New World doesn't have the Delmaine butter chicken anymore. I figured that it was just temporarily out of stock, but now I wonder whether there's something more "sinister" going on...
The problem with anything you usually buy being out of stock is:
You try an alternative.
If you like it the same or more, you change to the new product.
The manufacturer of the original then loses you as a customer!
(Applies to almost everything you buy)
I normally buy Boss too, now will try L&P based on the recommendations above.
(It's worth the gamble to me!)
After this issues is dealt with we need to talk about what has happened to HP sauce ...

Fresh anchovies (not salted) can be fried and eaten as an entree or nibbles. Delicious.
