Been looking to buy a cheap gfx card, but, even the 'budget' models are expensive and hardly outperform integrated graphics.

While browsing,  saw this on the playtech waitangi day sale, where the sale price is higher than the normal price haha.

I can get a RX580 8gb card from amazon for about $270nz, not exactly budget price, but still beats local pricing quite significantly. These days, a budget card seems to start from $300 and upwards.

Depending on your resolution and what games you want to play and your budget. If your looking to be playing recent/older games at 1080p Med setting just buy 2nd hand. Plenty of rx 570's/1050 floating around.

Good point, this is just something for my son to have a slightly better fortnite experience.....given we severely restrict hours anyway, don't want to splash out on anything too fancy.
