Anyone have a Sureflap microchip cat door installed?

We installed one back in October of last year (purchased from Animates) and recently we've been having issues with it. Mainly with the curfew system. We had a 6am-6pm curfew set on the cat door but it keeps forgetting the time, and thus completely resetting the whole curfew mode. Surely this isn't the batteries? They are Energizer batteries, not cheap brand ones, and the manual says that they should last at least 5-6 months?

Don't really want to have to remove the whole thing off the door to return to the store...

Hi. We have had the Sureflap cat door for a number of years and works really well overall. However, a couple of times we have had issues like you outline and replacing batteries turned out to be the solution. On experience, the batteries have lasted almost a full year most of the time but a few times they ran out more quickly. No idea why. I would try replacing one side of batteries first and then the second just to see if that helps.

Yep, just changed the batteries. Hopefully it solves the issue...

We had a cat that did not like the noise of it opening and back off and try again 4 - 10 time before coming through, and this drain the battery alot, they also learned when in the let in but not out mode, and the ones with just a one way sensor lock, if they hook their claws around the door and pull, they can let them self out when you do not want them to - needed to upgrade to sensor lock going in and out.

Possibly... our cat was also like this when we first installed it but he got used to it and is now much more comfortable using it

Yep so it was the batteries.. has been a few days now without issue. The battery level indicator can't be relied on. It was still showing full charge even though they were low.

Can be a bad connection on the batteries causing it too. Door slams, batteries break contact momentarily.
