It's giveaway time and now we have an Animo Dog Activity tracker to give away to one of you lucky folks, courtesy of Sure Petcare! This device monitors your dog's activities, sleep, barking and scratching. Sync via Bluetooth and learn more about your dog - things you didn't know about your pet will appear: how much they exercise, how long they sleep and the quality of this sleep.

How to Enter: You just need to reply here with a good story about your pet. Double entry if you post a photo showing off your pet on its best (upload the image to Geekzone and use the BBCODE provided). Be creative here folks - we want to see these dogs!

General rules: one entry per user only in our competition. One winner will be randomly selected. This giveaway is open to NZ residents and closes Friday 15th March 2019 (New Zealand time). Winner will be selected in a random draw and contacted via PM. After confirmation we will post winner's username in this topic. Once confirmed, winners will receive the prizes via post. Winners must be registered Geekzone users by the time this competition was posted.

Email notification: this topic may get quite busy, so if you don't want to receive email notifications when new replies are posted, remember to uncheck the "E-mail me when someone replies to this post" option. An unsubscribe option is always sent with every email.

Took the kids up the river this evening to look at the eels.
Meanwhile this puppa caught himself a possum and drowned it!
Kids then fed the possum to the eels. :)

A friend has just taken on the responsibility of fostering a guide dog puppy - meet "Pip" :)

All paws at the moment, but will be a major part of someones life after her training is complete :)

Always wanted a Pedigree British Bulldog growing up..

Was about to have one.. then my mum passed away..

Our name for the pup we wanted was Snoopy, after Snoopy from Peanuts..

Finally able to make it happen, so this is my boy..

Meet Snoopy..

Charlie spends his days keeping an old lady with mild dementia company. She has trouble remembering the last time she gave him a treat, and Charlie is a filthy liar who tells her he's starving and neglected. Consequently, he now has the profile of a small, hairy keg. Boy needs more excercise!

Our sons are supposed to walk him, but we can never tell if he's been taken for a walk at all, or if the walk was a decent length, or just around the corner and back.

Having a fitness tracker on the furry weasel will help guilt us into getting him (and us) a bit more trim.

This pic is six years old, but he looks the same now, just a bit chunkier.

I have always wanted to know what my pets get up to and where they run off to, if they get enough quality sleep and if they get enough exercise. They are free running and I often have to ring my neighbors to locate them, so it would be great to find out where they have been once they come home.

oops did I say pets I meant 'Kids!'

My dog is a cat. He loves to do dog things. He goes for walks with me. He gets very excited when he knows we are going out. He jumps up and down and runs around in circles. He doesn’t bark but neither do dingoes. He does meow a lot.

He is a talkative dogcat. He tells me when he is hungry, which is all the time. He enjoys treats. He loves to be brushed. I am pretty sure he is convinced he is a dog. I certainly am.

We sometimes go hunting together. He really enjoys chasing bunnies. He is very good at it. I am not so he makes up for my deficiencies. He is a good strategist. He knows I am useless so he just lets me act as a blocker while he circles the bunny into position. If he was bigger he would do well with sheep. If I win the tracker I will give it to him to play with. Like most dogs, he loves to chew on things.

This is Maggie, when she isn't lazing about in bed she often can be found (and heard) saying hello to the walkers and other dogs going past. I'd love to know how vocal she is when we aren't around......

My wee pup, Faye Valentine. (Got her Valentines day and we're massive Cowboy Bebop fans!)

She's a wee miracle dog, we actually lost her during the earthquake in Feb here in Christchurch.

She was missing for 6 days, she escaped in Fendalton, we released over 200+ flyers all over Chch and has sightings over her from Fendalton all the way to Harewood! We chased up every sighting, and even combed Harewood's Nunweek park with my wifes family around 11.30 one night! We got a few 'WTF are you doing!?" from the neighbouring houses..

She eventually made her way home to Riccarton, where we were flatting at the time. Whilst we'd kept the gate open every night, that night I'd closed it and we found her curled up outside.

My wife still hasn't forgiven me for that, probably never will!!

She's even famous! (kinda..) She featured in the Quake Dogs book which contains many wonderful stories about dogs and their owners during the Chch quakes.

I often wonder if my two nut bag doggos (*love them to death!) get enough sleep, and what the hell they get up to during the day, besides Skye (White Lab x Collie) perching herself on the top of our 6ft fence, saying hello to the neighbours, and generally surveying what is going on around our neighbourhood.

When not found perching on the fence, Skye and Bella love to make a dust cloud in our previously grassed yard (read: now a dusty patch), which causes them to both become living vacuum bags due to the amount of dust you can brush out of their coats.

Picture of both sleeping, Skye isn't overly feminine whilst sleeping, as you can see!

Is this device waterproof?

If so, I would like one for my adventurous miniature dachshund, Trudy, aged 2 years.

This is Eddie.

We adopted him when he was 4.

We have no idea what kind of activity he enjoys most, because mostly, he's either running around the house with a sock or pair of underpants in his mouth, or doing this:

Handsome Dan Has Spoken.
Handsome Dan needs to stop adding three dots to every sentence...

Handsome Dan does not currently have a side hustle as the mascot for Yale
