Hi

Just in case anyone if interested.
Allbirds are running a release of 1 limited style per day each day this week.
They are revealing the designs each day.
For those keen I managed to "guess" the image paths and extract the actual images.
Here they are:

Pygmy Nuthatch

Mountain Bluebird

Allen's Hummingbird

Scarlet Tanager

Enjoy
D

I loved how comfortable they were when I tried them, I really wanted to keep them, but I worried they weren't moisture proof and the support is pretty poor, which is a problem for those with flat feet and tendency to roll ankles. I am not on the hunt for something similarly comfortable and attractive, but with better support.

I do love the colours of the first two.

I personally can't stand the look of them, or how peoples big toe sticks out badly, but the smallbirds are super cute. Bought a pair for my 22mth old daughter.

Curious what people think of their runners as I've just won a pair from a Facebook competition.

If you decide you don't want them, and you haven't specified size and colour yet, I'd be happy to offer you something for them.

I love my wool ones. My go-to casual shoe these days. I'm going to buy one of the "tree" ones later this year too.

Thanks but think I'll keep them.

I have both the wool and the tree one. Best shoes I ever had. The only thing to be careful is the sizes don't exactly line up with your standard sizes.

My big problem is I am a US 10.5 which in an asics fits perfectly throughout their range. The AB's don't do half sizes, and an 11 was slightly too big. For $120-130 I would have kept them and used them in a lesser number of occasions, but at $150+ I want them to be useable in lots of situations.

Wondering how others find the wool runners for longevity? Do they start to look worn quickly and how much moisture outside are you expecting before you won't wear them?

They look very cool, but sadly like most other shoe manufacturers they don't cater to people with large feet.. *sigh*

Sorry to take this off topic, but @Lias , where do you get your shoes.  Do you have a local source?  My son is a size 15 and it's always a struggle, even on Amazon, to find suppliers who'll ship to NZ for a reasonable price.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Do you suggest going bigger or smaller than usual? I'm usually US10 in trainers so what should I go for in these?

I suggest going one size up. Iam usually size 8 but that was too tight for me so have size 9's. They do expand a bit and i found the tree expanded bit more than the wool.

I'm a 10.5 and the 11 was slightly too big (felt fine walking normally but on uneven surfaces I had more movement than I felt completely safe and comfortable with) and the 10 was really tight. If I was a 10 I would have gone with a 10 and let them stretch.

The nice thing about Allbirds, is you can try them for a few days and if they aren't a good fit, send them back free of charge and they sent you out something else. It was utterly painless. It will be the same even as a prize.

They do suggest sizing up, but I guess I would my experience was slighty different. I also have very wide feet. Asics I usually wear a 2E or a 4E.
