I just received a confirmation email from this site about activating my new membership. I know nothing about this site and have never applied to join. Apparently it is some kind of porn hook-up club. They used my correct Gmail address and when I just checked, apparently it was pwned in an ancient Linux Mint breach, though it came up clean a few months ago. Apart from that, I suppose they could have got it in many places. I am pretty careful about controlling how my email contacts are used, though. Gmail is only a backup for me, and it doesn't get used often. Interestingly, I did just use it yesterday because it is attached to an Amazon account I bought something from. Not accusing them of anything, just mentioning a coincidence. I took a look at Sizzle with Tor and it seems legitimate, so if I hit the unsubscribe button they might respect that, but I don't really want to get deluged with spam on this account. Hence my question: What, if anything, does anyone know about it?

Saw something similar at work a few weeks ago. Staff were emailed what looks to be a subscription confirmation email but it’s just another interesting spam method. Fortunately caught as spam.

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.
