Just had one of these call, claiming Fair Go had been saying that energy costs in my area had jumped about 10% in my area in the last year. They want me to send them my recent bill  so they can see how much I can save, including internet use. Anyone had these guys door knocking, and are they worth looking into? Or are there better power companies around? Personally I am not a fan of companies that door knock, but it has got me looking into what the alternative electricity providers there are. Currently paying about 33 cents per unit , and $1 a day fixed charge, which is quite high.

I had them come into my company and I told them I would never used them just based on their ad's which I cannot stand. We both had a good laugh and he said everybody mentions the advert and mostly negative comments lol.

You can easily determine if your current power provider is charging you too much/little using https://www.powerswitch.org.nz/

We're on a grandfathered plan with Nova (not available anymore), every time I've compared usage to a door knocker or other provider they've always come out cheapest.

We are on a low user Nova plan and no complaints.

I think our bill is cheap, but never bothered to check to be honest.

Thanks guys. I probably wouldn't consider them for internet, but the power maybe an option. Haven't seen their adverts TBH, as I skip past adverts on the tivo if watching FTA TV
