Searching on Amazon Global for things to ship to NZ, looking for Pixelbook i7

Shows up in list. Clicks in joyful anticipation.

Sorry, this item does not ship to New Zealand.

Why is it in the list then?!

Think its to annoy people.

 

Have had it as well, just for smaller things so far, like blurays.

 

Also Amazon sent me a keyboard once from the US, no problem, tried to order a second one a few months later - 'Sorry, cannot ship to your destination'.

 

I've asked, they've said they'll raise it with higher authorities, nothing happens.

Amazon won't ship certain batteries directly to NZ. And nor will YouShop... but eBay will

Perhaps, although there was only one listed for that particular item when I looked.

Seen this many times, seems to be items I would think supplier have global agreements on where its distributed to protect local supplier or importer, eg Logitech and others, although its not consistent.

I preordered a Bluray from Amazon UK recently. A few weeks later I went back to the page to check the release date and it suddenly couldn't be shipped outside the UK. Despite that, it still arrived (presumably since I got the order in before the restriction came along).

Amazon don't just have a single distribution centre for orders. My understanding still is that not all DC's are capable of shipping internationally, so for a product to be shipped it has to be in that DC. It's not uncommon for a product to end up out of stock at one DC (or the seller of the product decides to limit the DC's the product is in) meaning the product can end up being shipped domestically only until stock is replenished in that DC.

Well I just looked at that keyboard again (Logitech K800) and Amazon Export Sales (repeat Export) still won't ship it to my selected address in NZ.

 

AES sent me one fine in Sept 2017 though.

 

Don't think stock comes into that particular item anywhere, though I can believe Logitech moaned to them about it.

I can get the Pixelbook as long as I don't order it with the pen. As soon as you add that, it won't ship.

Also, I can't find out if the seller is official and I gather Google are very prone to refusing warranty cover for units not bought from official sellers.

Might be better sucking my teeth and buying a MacBook.

Weren’t there also murmurs of them bringing Aus Amazon to NZ? If theres been recent changes to availability it might be because they want people to go to amazon au.

If they can't crush it in Canada what makes them think they can do better than existing NZ/AUS options.

I had that same issue when on Amazon - awww it must have been over a year ago now - and I btched to Amazon support about it and after a lot of back and forth they finally understood what I was saying and were going to "escalate the issue" but obviously they didn't, or decided that annoying customers was a better approach to fixing something that doesn't make sense.
