I'm wanting to get a couple of parcels from Christchurch to Palmerston North - dimensions and weight are:

18kg, Dimensions 34x57x57

6kg, Dimensions 31x31x31

It only contains electronic parts - so I'm after the slowest, cheapest option available.  (If the items get there then fine, if not I'll live with it.)

Are there any hints on ultra bargain transport ?  I'm after something like Uber Freight....

Thanks in Advance,

Patrick

I find the courier rates when booked through trade-me (if you have an account) pritty good. Just don't take the fastway option. Any cost saving is not worth your time when they mess up.

Hi there,

There's no Trademe (or similar) involved here :-).  Just wanting to ship a couple of boxes for as cheaply as possible.

Thanks,

Patrick

Trademe recently opened it's courier booking service up to other items, not just stuff sold on through the site. I find it convenient and cheap compared to going to the post shop. Another user provided a link.

Oh right!  Thank you for explaining :-).  I had no idea that you could use them for items not sold as part of an auction.

Thanks - Patrick

As others have said via Trademe is pretty damn good, otherwise pass the parcel. With the Trademe thing, you don't need to have sold it via auction, they opened it up so anyone can use it to send anything any time awhile ago.
