Jeeeeeeezzz: how hard can it be for TVNZ to get one thing rightYell I'm talking about their Freeview programme scheduling of the Olympics.

I wasn't going to bag them after they have consistently got their night EPG scheduling wrong by ending the Olympics at 2.00am when they continue on beyond that point, with the BBC World supposedly on after that. As a consequence, I missed the men's 200 metres final the other night.

But I got home this afternoon expect ing to watch the final of the women's 10m platform diving -on TVNZ6, which was an exciting final of high performance, only to find blimmin' BMX & beach friggin' volleyball.

What a bunch of tossin' losers!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I think they have done a very good job, overall. I much prefer free-to-air sport. However, the simple things have been missed, again, causing this rant.

TVNZ do note that times can change without notice - I have seen times change 4-6 hours before the set event was to begin.

Sometimes it may be a event shift (like BMX) but mostly events get prioritised to a different channel.

That's really brilliant for people like me who actually have to go to work away from their TV sets. I hope that is not supposed to be some sort of defense of their policies. I set the record this morning before going to work.

I agree the scheduling has been annoying, although I find the constant changes to Sports Extra's coverage a bit more understable than the guide of the nightly coverage stopping at 2pm. That caused me to miss recording Nick Willis' race, luckliy I caught the end.

What gets me that sometimes they have the same thing on both TV1 and Sports Extra at the same time. What's the point of that? Sports Extra is supposed to expand the coverage, not duplicate it.
