It's out there in my opinion and not really what I would have called art but then again art is in the eye of the beholder.

I wouldn't want it in my lounge (though I wouldn't object to a smaller copy) but as a work of art I think it's great. Art has different functions, but high on the list are to provoke, challenge, and confront. This definitely does that. The critical comments sound a lot to me like the kinds of things people would have said in the day about some of Picasso's work. This artwork does exactly what it should. It stirs people up and gets them talking.

It's the ugliest piece of 'art' in the capital, hands down.

Is it Thing from The Addams Family?

Civic Square reminds me of a Soviet Era city to be honest - that whole area wants flattening. This bizarre addition can't make it any worse.

They get points for not having yet another wind-based sculpture though.

Waste of money. Wellington City Council is very free with our money, puts rates up every year, and use it for things like this.

Art matters, whatever you may think of individual works. In Holland, all public buildings must devote part of their budgets to art.

Steven King, idiot American congressman who believes rape and incest are good things so should not be used to excuse abortion.
