I'm looking for a good workstation for someone who works as a creative.

Needs to have room for a 27" iMac and second monitor, NAS, standalone drives, router etc

AND leave enough tabletop to spread out on and do non-computer stuff. Height adjustment would be a bonus as I find my exiting desk (a freebie cast off from SWMBO one-time employer when they moved offices years ago!) several inches too low.

Good quality but not running to many thousands of dollars.

Any ideas? All I can find in NZ so far are mundane cubicle factory drone desks or madly expensive desks for Saatchi & Saatchi types! Must be something in the middle somewhere.

The chair I have - a Herman Miller Aeron. Bought it in about 1998 or 9!

Needs a service really. Last time that was necessary, I was still working in the UK and they came to my office and did it on site. Don't think I can get that in the Wairarapa...!

Where are you based?

I brought an entire home office from here: https://allheartnz.org.nz/

Charity that sells ex corporate stuff. They usually have a lot more in stock than what is online.

There is a commercial outfit similar: https://www.georgewalkers.co.nz/

I found a great desk at the habitat op shop.

It's solid oak, long top with 5 drawers each side.  I can fit heaps on it. No multi levels, but I never liked monitor stands or those awful keyboard under tray things.

And it cost me $95.  Probably because it's not fashionable these days, but I love it.

Great idea - although I am just outside Wellington.
