Did a quick search but can't find a specific answer. Does Amazon Import Duties Deposit include GST or will I be hit with GST upon arrival?

Laptop: NZD 1,697.39
Shipping & handling: NZD 52.35
Total before tax: NZD 1,749.74
Estimated tax to be collected: NZD 0.00
Import Fees Deposit: NZD 298.57
Order total: NZD 2,048.31

What happens if they ship without collecting because they think it isn't required and Customs disagree with them? Has that happened?

In the maybe 8-9 years Amazon has been collecting GST and duty for NZ I've certainly never seen or heard of that happening.

And if they collect less than the actual charges, they cover the difference. If they collect more, they refund.
