A news item on RNZ says that if the NZ porn fugitive the Americans are after is found in this country, he will be extradited. I have no problem with that. He sounds like a thoroughly nasty individual and probably more than deserves whatever he gets. I am curious about the extradition, though. I thought most countries (like France) refuse to extradite their own citizens. Is New Zealand different in this regard? Why?

I think its actually the other way round,. most countries will extradite their citizens if the case stands up, but a small number will not,
