They say "We ARE NOW able to process your orders online and deliver ESSENTIAL TECH to you."

However they make no mention which items they consider essential.

There is also no indication once you've ordered and paid if / when they will ship it to you or not.

I ordered something a week ago and today still hadn't shipped.

Ordered something else today and after contacting their office they agreed to ship it but still refused to ship (or combine) the first order as they decided it's "non-essential" (even though I'm an essential business needing it to support an essential service).

Now the question is whether I'll be able to get my money back from the first order as I'll just order elsewhere or if they're in the process of pulling a Dick Smith...

If you can prove you're essential they should come to the party regardless of what they deem to be essential or not.  The key bit here is you're the essential service, not them, so you call the shots on what you need/don't need.

I ordered some stuff from Jaycar on the 13th and received it on the 16th so certainly some orders are coming out.

Various co-workers etc have had delays on orders from other places like pbtech while others have gotten their orders from the same place. My impression is that there is a bit of a overload with orders across the board right now. So things can take a while longer than what we are used to.

Call them and reiterate the above.

If they haven't shipped then hopefully you can cancel and get your money back.

I work for a company classed as essential, and I had to call PB Tech, Rubber Monkey and Harvey Norman to allow certain individuals to order specific items that weren't on their essential items list. I had to follow up with an email to prove I worked for the company before they allowed the order to proceed.

If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.

As above yes they are shipping some items but completely arbitrarily and not communicating which items will / won't be shipped unless asked.

As above I communicated exactly that to them. They said they'd look into it; then I got the notification the second order had shipped but the first still hadn't so obviously decided the first still wasn't essential - without anymore communication.

Yes no problem with PB Tech being classed essential and shipping all orders.

We got a template letter from MBIE which I have been modifying and sending to our suppliers with orders.

The essential service or business that you support should be able to send you a letter to forward on.

If the essential service is in the primary sector, MPI i am told have been issuing essential service registration numbers which you can forward on to suppliers.
