I got a refund for my international travel about a week ago but never received a timeline for when I'll actually receive the refund.
I paid via POLI so I was wondering if anyone else could share their experience when getting refunds from Air New Zealand.

i have been waiting 8 weeks and still no refund.

paid by airpoints. in fact i got charged "reversal fees".

I think i'm going to call them again.

i've called a few times but the person at the end of the phone has no idea what's going on.

i gave them the benefit of the doubt but my doubt is growing.

My experience of Air NZ POLI refunds is that it takes around two weeks (under normal circumstances) to be refunded.

Usually I pay by POLI to avoid credit/debit card fees per flight. It's not often I have to cancel, otherwise I would just pay by card in order to have quicker refunds.

If you've tried the call centre multiple times, it may be worth sending @CamWallanceNZ a message on twitter.

For what it's worth, I believe the process is very manual and used to be up to 6-8 weeks before so they will be taking a monumental amount of time to refund people given the current circumstances.

I got an email saying "Sure, I have cancelled the credit being held and requested a refund for you in the fare amount including taxes of $2912.00NZD plus the two preferred seats you purchased valued at $39.00NZD each."

I would've thought this meant that they've processed the refund and it's up tot POLi now.

Having a similar delay with Jetstar having paid by POLI. Refund was approved on 30 March and email said it would take around 10 business days. Have followed up a couple of times via their Facebook page and live chat on the website and got a copy and paste answer that it was in the queue and they were dealing with a large amount of refunds to process.

How can you pay by Airpoints but be expecting a refund to a bank account?

If you paid with Airpoints a refund would be credited back to your account in Airpoints Dollars.
