A bar outside my window is getting louder and louder, especially at 3 or 4 am. I can bear and want to seek noise complaint. Anyone wants to share your experience?

I found it mostly okay, but my complaints were about inconsiderate neighbours having parties at all hours of the night. Difficult especially when you have young children trying to sleep.
was it there before you moved in?
are you in a commercial area?
Bung: Louder than it ever was or you notice it now after having total silence for awhile?
that’s a good question. I should say it’s too loud for adults to get asleep without earplugs.

yes and yes.

@hhan It's a commercial area and the bar was there before you moved in, Next time rent / own in a different location
Don't be the type of person to move near Western Springs and then complain about concerts and stock cars making noise
what general area are you in?
im guessing you are noticing it more now that you have had a few months of quiet due to covid
it likely hasnt changed from what it was pre covid

You'll be pushing the proverbial up hill.
Taking away the fact you moved into a commercial zoned area, people generally take a good look around the neighborhood they're looking at moving into to see if there's anything that could cause them a problem going forward.
We looked at one place in a residential zone years ago, soon as we pulled up we we were thinking "nope". Daycare was right next door.... wouldve driven us nuts with kids yelling all day, and then traffic of the parents picking them up etc.
Unfortunately as the others have said, move - or look at what sound proofing options you have. Being a commercial zone, I take it its a warehouse with unit attached that you're in ?

Mostly I agree....but....a bar is different.
I've lived in London and cities in several other countries, sometimes close to bars (including a great Irish bar we used to visit frequently), but didn't have this issue - especially at 4am.
Councils in other cities allow residential to be built in the same area as bars, and set the noise laws and closing times accordingly.
People who move next door to a speedway/airport etc then complain about noise .... they can go jump as far as I'm concerned.
As for the OP -- check with Auckland council to see if the bar is breaching any RMA conditions, if not, you've got to put up with it or move.

As new immigration, I rent an apartment in Auckland CBD when I arrived in New Zealand without any friend or family here. I was looking for a location having easy access to everything. I was thinking of moving out after getting familiar with NZ. It is my bad to not research enough for finding a quiet place. I thought an apartment should be suitable for sleeping at least. But it seems that it is not the story here. People blame you for not finding a good location rather than blaming people making so much noise against the law. Thanks for your advice, I will be moving in the following weeks.

If the noise is illegal, your complaint to the Council will result in cessation of the noise, and you won’t have to move.
