On the face of it, this seems like a good idea. Only thing I couldn't find info on was, at some point these batteries will expire. How hazardous will they still be. I can imagine thousands of these ending up in landfills all over the world.

This just screams "battery of the future" that I am sure I saw described In one of 1960s visions of tomorrow,

 

Along with nuclear powered trains and cargo ships.....
