Got a recorded message on my landline by a woman with an American accent. Basically, she said that Amazon would very soon be taking money from my bank acct for the Prime service as my 30 day free trial was about to expire. If I wanted to cancel this I should press 1.

Well, checked my Amazon a/c and it was still offering me the 30 day trial so assumed the scam was to get access to my a/c.

Anyone with this experience?

Yeah, I had something similar a month or two ago, can't remember what service it was but the same "press 1 to allow and we'll transfer you to a staff member" etc.  After getting it about 1/2 dozen times, I pressed 1. It cut me off. Didn't get any more after that which was odd...

I have had several - mostly with an Asian lady from either ANZ, DHL or Amazon...all want a press of a number to confirm details...

Keep getting similar automated calls for Spark. Apparently they are going to cut my internet off! How unkind! Lucky most of these calls go to answer machine and ignore...

Talking to a friend today - he got one of the Amazon ones as well. While most of us can recognise these sods, I worry about the not so well informed or those losing their marbles.
