So work's putting a float into the christmas parade this year and will be playing some music from it. My question is, what is the best way to power a stereo so we can play some music? Would an inverter situated in the car be sufficient enough? A noisy generator wouldn't be a good idea, it would probably make the little kids cry!!

You could quite happily power a decent stereo of a simple inverter from Dick Smith or the like. I used to work for a sound company, and we had a 1000W inverter that we would loan to a float. They used to power speakers, a sound mixer, computer and a data projector and it worked a treat.

Does anyone know where I could hire an inverter? or does anyone have one I could borrow for a day?

Thanks
