Hi.

Wanting some help to identify this beetle?

Sorry for blurry image. Size of beetle is only about 2-3mm, so hard to capture with phone.

Is that carpet beetle?

We are mainly finding them in the kitchen and the family room which is located on otherside of wall to kitchen. Generally found either on the window sill, wall or ceiling of either room, or on kitchen bench.

I'd say most likely coming in through open window. Found about 6 of them today.

It certainly looks like a carpet beetle when you search the internet for what a carpet beetle looks like!

Yeah.

Info online says its attacks natural fibres like wollen carpert. We have Rhino Smartstrand, so synthetic. We do have a leather couch but none of these beetles detected in room where couch is located.

Unsure why they suddenly camping out at our place.

First noticed one about 5-6 days ago.

used lancare searcher. But carpet has a stumped head, not separate segmented? and suggests limited to 1mm

It actually says 2-3mm, and the angle that photo is taken at could certainly be missing detail of the head.

I really hope the little blighters haven't developed a taste for non-natural fibres!
