Hi guys,

We are looking for a mobile EFTPOS device in NZ and was wondering what's the most fancy device we can get at the moment? Something that we can integrate with an iPhone for comms.

I've seen some pretty fancy integrated ones overseas, and not sure if it's available in NZ.

We did trial Paymark's entry level device, which is utter useless and a terrible user experience. (We had the D200)

What do you mean by "integrate with iPhone for comms"? Do you simply want something that if WiFi based rather than 4G?

It’ll be good to use 4G rather than wifi

So what are your requirements? What do you want the iPhone to do?

Just after each appointment, we will put the amount into the phone or device and it would be ready to accept payment from a card.

ANZ previously had a device that looked pretty snazzy. Today, I could only find the SmartPay solution for you. Doesn't explicitly state what type of card reader they use.

The ANZ solution also was a lot easier to find than the ASB solution they I know they offered.

Maybe Shopify offers card readers in NZ?

Not an answer, but you may want to specify what you mean by "most fancy". I assume you don't necessarily mean "most expensive" but "has a specific feature set at a good price". Otherwise the most fancy would be a bank employee dressed in butler's livery whisking the credit card away on a silk cushion to record the details in a leatherbound ledger with a quill pen, which is definitely fancy but may not be the cheapest way to handle payments.

Mobile devices are offered by the banks directly, if you need to do EFTPOS cards, not just VISA and Mastercard etc

For example:

ANZ does Fastpay

Westpac does GetPaid

Both of these use an older generation Verifone device

and BNZ provides PayClip

and this is the newer generation Verifone device

To use these you'll need to setup a merchant account with a monthly fee and fee for terminal rental then a percentage card based on the card customers use
