Any Lego fans about.... ? :)

New sets just being released, which is awesome as I was told they would be delayed a couple of months, but appears not :D

My latest purchase just arrived

Some of my completed Speed Champions.

The whole family has gotten into it over the past couple years (thanks lockdowns).

As a friend once said, "Dont get into Lego, its worse than crack (coke)"

We have a few from the Harry Potter series (my wife loves the Harry Potter books) to cars , trucks, Lunar Lander. It takes me long time due to my disabilities but I find it useful therapy to keep my hand mobile and to try to maintain some fine finger skills. Also great relaxer and escape from bad thoughts.

I will post some pics later

Awesome, that's great to hear the whole family got into it! Totally agree about it being worse than crack though haha!

On my desk I've got the Apollo rocket, the space shuttle and if I can find room for it I'll pop the lunar lander I just finished on here too. I'd like to hang the rocket and shuttle from the ceiling if possible.

Does anyone have any recommendations display cabinets? Back when I worked at Dick Smith and we were closing, some people bought the glass cabinets for displaying Lego, I wish I'd thought of it at the time!

Interest ? Absolutely. Budget ? Absolutely zero.

Kids are so grown up now can't even pretend their Lego birthday presents were actually for them any more...

We got this cabinet from Crackerjack before Xmas, not sure if they still have them. (Update: Looks like they do - https://www.crackerjack.co.nz/glass-display-case-4-tier-black-uh2842)

Isn't it? I picked the T1 up for about $85 on one of those The Market specials a couple of years ago, and had wondered whether the current version is worth looking at.

Speaking of nerd lego, I managed to find my unopened Doctor Who 21304 set in the garage last week. I had bought it in 2016 when my son was far too young for Doctor Who so had put it away and forgot about it, only to have my memory jogged by some Doctor Who Dimensions figures he was playing with the other day. Wish I had bought some more of the Dimensions packs at the time - the set was about $80 but the two Dimensions sets were only around $10 and $15 each.

MikeB4: My Moon Lander

I would really, really like that set. It does look better than the promotional stuff shows.

However the budget has to spent elsewhere at the moment.

Dunno if I want to show pics of the entire collection (unopened), its not massive compared to a lot of people out there, but still enough to make us look like big spenders (which we are not LOL, just right place right time)

We also picked up two of the Ospreys when they were "wrongly" released - went halves with a friend in them. Sold one straight away for $1200. The other is in hiding at friends until we decide what to do with it.

I don't like buying stuff just to resell for profit but this was the one time I'd have been mad to let go....

Most of my Hot Wheels are removed from their cards now and on display, some people have said Im crazy to have done that, but lot of others saying theyre the same. Its my collection, I'll do what I want thanks :D
