Hi

Last night i plugged my usb into my friends computer and noticed that the big blue light on the side never came on, neither did the usb got detected. (not even in disk management in admin tools). so i plugged it back into my other computer and same problem. though i forgot to take it out thinking i resolve the matter later, after 40 odd min i looked at it and saw the light was back on. though no signs of detection in windows (vista). then i plugged it in my other machine which has xp. no light no detection no digdong. (i have tried the usb on the main usb port which is on the motherboard. not the front/side panel). i am lost  i dont know what to do. i payed $80 for this a month ago because i was sick of using cheap ones. i

I have had one of these for quite some time now. Has never missed a beat and is on my key ring so not exactly looked after.

Sounds like something has come loose with yours though. Time to get it replaced I think.

I too have one of these and it's been faultless thus far.

Anyone know when they might release a 32GB or 64GB model?  I really like the way the USB plug retracts into the body of the thing.

Where did you get it from?

Sandisk are probably the most copied flash memory brand.
I got a couple of 1GB flash memory cards a few years ago from Trademe - turned out to be fakes.

Quite a common problem with online flash memory sales it seems:

Mine still work, but the speed probably isn't what they should be.

Sandisk USB flash drives have also been faked:
http://reviews.ebay.com.au/FAKE-SanDisk-Cruzer-USB-Flash-Drives-Exposed_W0QQugidZ10000000001439499

Most people that get these fake flash drives from Trademe and Ebay don't realise until it's too late to place bad feedback on the seller. When told they are fakes, the seller will usually say something like "they are all the same as Sandisk anyway" and "I never said they were genuine Sandisk".

In most cases, if the deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Don't Sandisk normally have some sort of Lifetime Warrenty?
In any case, the first thing I'd do is take it back to DSE - they should last longer than 3 months.

The last USB flash drive I had die on me was a DSE branded one.
My Kingston  512MB Flash Drive has lasted for years.
