My toilet bowl has a small chipped area (I think something fell into the toilet) that is hard to clean because the surface is rough. Is there any product I can buy that would allow me to smooth over the damaged surface? I don't really want to have to replace the whole toilet.

You can get ceramic chip repair kits for baths and basins. You may not get a match for the shade of white. Some are quite expensive so shop around. Is the chip above normal tide level?

If you’ve got glass cover in your insurance this sometimes covers ceramic fittings too
