Thanks to the absolutely crappy weather, decided to have a clean up of a few things....  server area in the garage, and setup new display shelving in the office for my Lego cars :D

Will be heading back down to garage shortly to finish dis-assembling the arcade machine there that I'm tidying up.

Happy birthday :D

And yum....  I'd prob have had the BBQ fired up except our deck roofing has taken a battering this year and not offering any shelter :D

Sat in a hospital ward with my neighbour, who has heart problems, waiting for tests. There was a nice view of Lake Pupuke, and I'd brought some good books to read.

That is very kind of you. This kind of thing really goes under-appreciated in general, but I imagine it meant the world to them, even if they don't articulate it.

Placated a crying child by driving her to Auntie because play date got cancelled. Gave her a bowl of rising pizza dough to hold onto which upon arrival she had flattened and played with in the back of the car and it had stuck to everything.

Afterwards went to the market to glare at a tiny head of broccoli whose price required nitrolingual to suppress an Angina attack. Ditto the cauliflower. This was after spending twenty minutes driving back and forth to go to the pharmacy and using my highly priced fuel to find a non existent park while watching out for all the non existent cyclists on the very prominent cycleway that had clearly taken over the usual parking spots.

Next deciding to go into town for some fave satay noodle soup but knowing there wouldn’t be a park anywhere, we drove a mile down the hill to catch the bus, more fuel and no parking. The bus driver must have been shipped down from Hawkes Bay because in a 10 degree Southerly he had the aircon on full bore as they do up North where it’s always hot. We put our hoods on and our teeth played like castanettes. Then had to walk four blocks as the bus doesn’t stop nearby. Mental note to self, never again. Someone younger with good circulation can do the planet saving.

Got home to glare at the other car parked smugly in the garage scheming on depleting it’s battery some more with that tiny red flashing light that I have no idea what it’s for but suspect it’s dual protection and battery depletion all rolled into one. I refuse to take it anywhere since all trust has gone out of the relationship and I hate it.

Spent all evening on Trade me looking for it’s replacement, then in a moment of lucidity wondered why we need the security blanket of a second car any more. Roll on peaceful Sunday.

I wasn't going for that, just replying to the question :-). They're lovely people so it really wasn't a big deal. I'm also astounded at how incredibly positive he manages to stay through all this, he was joking with the nurses and swapping stories about grandkids while they were wiring him up for an ECG.

Housework and movies. Would have rather been in the garden, but the weather wasn't on the same page.

Hope it turned out ok. Anything to do with heart is quite sobering when you start to think that it’s just a few beats away from life and the alternative. Kudos to you.

Yesterday was basically a write-off for doing much of anything. This morning looks stunning, I hope it lasts although I get the impression it probably won't 😕

Have just spent some time in the garden, tending to seedlings. Still quite warm outside, but despite patches of blue sky, it looks like the rain will arrive about lunch time or a little after.

Long weekend with bank holidays on Monday. What they call Indian summer in New England is going on here. I really like this time of autumn. It's the time after summer to gather up and invite back the friends who have been all over the world in spring and summer and can now report back.
