As the title says, looking at getting a rotisserie for the BBQ to try some different cooks in the BBQ. Anyone have any thoughts or existing use with one they may reccomend.

cooking is done either on a charcoal kettle, or a Weber q (family or baby) but would mostly be used on the kettle. Really liking the look of the espetusol ones that run off batteries and can have their use expanded by getting extra parts for different cooks etc. espetosul.co.nz

thanks

Most off the shelf rotisserie bbqs here are a single spit where it goes sharp end into a battery box..so make sure you clean the end before stripping the meat off.

I have a Cypriot style rotisserie which is lots of spits (some hot rotissere content: https://video.wixstatic.com/video/3c8a88_6095dfb5d65b41a3a39f46cc20bfd47e/1080p/mp4/file.mp4
Argentinian is also another good rotisserie style.

espetusol kit is the most flexible in terms of what it can be used or modified to use. I have a weber kettle and use the weber one which was simply the best money I've spent on BBQ ever.

I highly recommend a rotisserie.

Picked up the espetosul from m10, $10 cheaper than from the official webpage. Will be christened tonight making kebabs/shawarma for tea, looking forward to using it over the next wee while

Since the batteries were always dead from these things if you need them the most, we went back to the good old traditional swivel grill.

Mine is mains powered, but don't people generally keep a spare couple of sets of batteries in the house? I could probably lay my hands on 30 if I had to :)

This was meant rather jokingly, on the rotating spits, which are still used here at folk festivals, fit whole pigs and sometimes even whole oxen in one piece.

I converted an atx power supply to a 12v/5v rotisserie power supply. Gives me two speeds for my 10 spits (at 0.5kg each).
