Yep, used them twice now.

Very quick delivery, easily met the delivery window both times.

All items arrived in one Temu branded courier envelope.

NZ Post/tracking information very detailed and up to date. You can set email/txt alerts etc.

Product has been exactly what was ordered/expected both times.

Much better than AE where dleivery times are all over the place and post Covid too many orders never arrive.

Placed my first order with them over the weekend, got the tracking number pretty quickly but still showing no tracking info though.

I also had a favourable experience like @steve2222. Mind you, I ordered a replacement clock mechanism from AliExpress at the same time and figured it would turn up in 3 months; imagine my surprise when it was in my letterbox two weeks later.

I have used them twice. Delivery is free and quick. One $4 item arrived damaged in transit (broken plastic). I put a claim in with photos and had a refund within an hour without returning it.

I bought some LED light up fake neons off them and they arrived after when they said it would, so got a credit for my next order.

The app is worse than wish and aliexpress combined with trying to get me to play stupid games and share affiliate invite links.

When I google search an item I have noticed Temu show up but haven't clicked on them yet but wondered who they were.

My Aliexpress experience has been great so far. Arriving ahead of schedule. Product is as expected. Maybe I'll click on Temu one day.

Tom's Guide did a review of them recently: https://www.tomsguide.com/features/i-spent-dollar50-on-the-temu-app-and-im-surprised-by-what-happened

I feel like I should downvote Toms for using such an obnoxious title on their story.

Isn't this just AliExpress under a different name? Cheap nasty junk that doesn't last, ends up in landfill etc?

It is kinda like Aliexpress, but US owned, shipped from China. I've actually gotten some pretty high quality things from it. Other things like the classic "1000000000000000 luman" torch are just that, fake and I'd still be wary of SD cards, flash drives and SSD's just like Aliexpress / Wish etc but my experience wasn't otherwise too bad.

It feels like a version of Wish, with the gamified experience and similar junk, but there are some interesting thing if you dig deep enough.

My 16ar old son sent links to everyone he knows and ended up with $75 in his PayPal account, so that was interesting.

The product offerings are similar, but a lot more more narrow.

Given my packages from Temu turn up in the same bag in under a week, I suspect Temu holds it's own stock in it's own warehouse (vs Aliexpress which effectively acts as a storefront / middleman, more like ebay or trademe).

There is a mix of cheap disposable plastic, and decent stuff.

At risk of being lambasted, below is what I have received so far. (prices include GST, free shipping).

Obviously some of the kids plane toy will last a few hours before it ends up in the trash. Kitchen tweezers might also fit into that category.

All the other stuff seems pretty decent quality. Sure, the park tool version of tools like the tubeless tire injector would be better & longer lasting, but it's $55 (vs $12.59), and I don't run a bike workshop.  Same deal with the other tools. Expect the bottom bracket wrench, suspension wrench & chain wear gauge will last my lifetime.

On Aliexpress, it also lists a lot of niche specialist gear that it is hard to find at any mainstream retailer. Bluetooth modules to suit my laptop, replacement fans for my laptop, case for my 4 generation old smartphone, suspension helpers for my car etc.

I have some ethical concerns about buying from china, but for a lot of the stuff I buy there, there is no reasonably priced alternative.
