Try Pack and Send, they're professionals with a ton of experience on doing this sort of thing, as well as access to all sorts of fancy packaging materials the like of what we plebs don't. When I've used them in the past I've been pretty impressed with how well it was done.

I used Pack and send a few years back for shipping some high end server gear to Chch from AKL - wasn't cheap but they did a fantastic job.

Another vote for Pack and Send. I used them a couple of years back to send a couple of heavy(ish) 15" drivers (Peavey 1508's) from Wellington to Auckland for repair/refurb. As xpd says, not cheap - but the packaging was excellent.
