Because they give so much and ask for so little. Usually it's just the hard decision you make at the end, for a lifetime (theirs, anyway) of companionship and affection.

It's the deal of the century. RIP to your little dude.

Sorry to hear it. We said goodbye to one of our boys (Cats) in L3 during the first lockdown. The Vet gave my wife a professional courtesy and allowed her to wear full PPE so she could be with him at the end. She's still sad about it.  I lost my German Shepherd in L2 and was away and couldn't get back in time. That was pretty crushing.

Sorry for your loss, as someone once said to me, Grief is the price you pay for loving something.

Pets are more reliable than family and friends. They will love you unconditionally no matter what your circumstances are. Plus 18 years is a lot longer than some relationships last.

Sorry for your loss. Handsome cat with such an interesting name. It will be hard for a while but giving a new kitty a nice home might be what helps you and family get distracted from the grief.

She got that name because we couldnt stand her original name, "Lollipop" :D We couldnt think of anything, then my wife saw a Dodge Viper model I had, and that stuck. :)

I'm all for another cat, rest of family are dog people :) I like dogs too but always had cats.

In process of moving atm, so maybe once we're settled into new place, I'll happen to find a stray kitten in the garage ;)

Cute, so maybe call the next Kitty Dodge?

Plenty of distraction with moving. Hope you find a new mate soon. I think the kitty season is around Xmas so timing is perfect.

My condolences on your loss. I have also been there and it is the worst feeling there is. Give yourself time. You may need a lot of it.
