hi All,
was having lunch with mates at work and we all agreed there arent any good pie shops in auckland CBD. The only pie shops we get run out of pies way before lunchtime and whatever pies are left are overpriced.

Does anyone know of any good pie shops which they have been to and recommend ??

Slightly out of the way but the bakery at quay st shops (by McDonalds & KFC) is excellent.

I also have been hunting throughout auckland city and this is the best I have found.

Cnr Wellesly and Albert sts ( I think those are the streets)

Dunno if it's still there - just up from the old civic govt buildings. Next to a bottle shop ? Across the road from Tonys restaurant.

It's called Piemania and it's very good. I think it's probably the best in town.

I can't really think of anywhere else that does great pies in the CBD, a few bakeries do good ones (e.g. Paneton) but Piemania has the best choice.

There are hardly any bakeries around that make good pies. The meat they use it crap, the pastry is soggy and the top comes off easy, that and the cheese is just yuck.

There is a foodtown somewhere in town you could get a couple of pies from :P sure you could find someone in the area who would nuke them for you :-)

Bah, you are spoilt for choice! I can count the number of places which sell proper pies in London on one hand.

I can't say that i'm fussy when it comes to pies. Tui make a good pie ... mostly sold in supermarkets.
