Hi there,

anyone know what's up with tastech at the moment?

I have had an order in with them since the 25th March and noone's answering emails or phonecalls...

I have always found Grant to be available in the past, having bought a handful of items off him. I wonder what is up.

Thanks

Dale

Hey you might just have to be patient. I have got a few bits and peices from him in the past with no troubles and fast email reply but my mate had to wait over a month to get the parts he ordered so i guess it differs between people and what they order give him a few more days if you hear nothing i recommend u move onto another company for your orders eg dragonpc.

I'd be more inclined to be patient if there was some communication from the company. "We have received your order and will be in touch once we have more information" would be something.

Not returning emails and being unavailable via phone is not a good look. Right now i'm just ordering product, what if this happens for a warranty issue?

I'm teetering on shifting this order to Ascent.

I ordered some blank cd's from Tashtech mid march and they arrived the next day.  Sounds a bit odd they wouldn't reply to calls or email, they are usually very fast.

Yep, seems very odd to me too. My experience with them in the past has always been positive.

Email, phone and cellphone all fail to raise anyone, and my order remains in "Requested" status on their web site.

Sounds like normal experience from tastech.

Took him 2 weeks to reply to one of my emails once. Another time he told me i could pick my order up the next day, when i showed up he hadnt even ordered it.
So i refuse to deal with tastech now, i would rather pay more and get decent service.

I've had some mixed experiences with Tastech too.  Found it impossible to get hold of the guy via phone when he sent me a faulty HDD.  But seemed to respond to emails within the day.  And a replacement HDD was returned to me reasonably quickly.

Oh well. Cancelled order (by email).

All my previous experiences with Tastech have been fine, but things seem to be a little slow right now.

All speculation of course,

but maybe we're looking at another liquidation.. eg c1com?

How would you recognise it? Tastech's history is littered with episodes of distracted attention.

To be honest, no idea.

but if they are seeming more evasive than usual, personally I would take that as some kind of indication of "buyer beware."

Obviously you cant be certain, as with C1COM they never told the customers.

This is exactly why I always make sure I can pick the part up and then pay for it when dealing with companies who offer lower prices than bigger distributors. It just gives me that extra peace of mind..

Unfortunately I know why some of these companies are attractive.. but in the near future more of these companies will be going out of business I think.

but like i said earlier.. its just purely speculation, for all i know, the guy could have gone on holiday. but, my main point here is; be careful.
