What was once a 4.7billion AUD National Broadband Network tender based on Fibre-to-the-Node network implementation it has just changed to a 43billion AUD Fibre-to-the-Home project owned by the government.
After the bidding companies and the government spent millions of dollars on this tender....

Nice initiative from the government promising 100Mb speeds at homes (instead of 12Mb, which was guaranteed in the tender), but where is this money will come from?

In essence the Australian Government sold its last stake in Telstra to Mums and Dads.....
and is now saying that its going to build a competing network against Telstra.

I'd be feeling pretty sore if I paid up for those Telstra shares from the Government.
