My partner bought me a Galaxy S25 Ultra for my BDay a couple of months ago.

The phone is far beyond my needs and Id rather pass it on to somebody who may get enjoyment and use from all the power and options. I have a prosumer mirrorless camera I utilise for photography. So I really need just a basic phone with a semi decent camera. Perhaps one of the new Pixels.

So Im wondering if Facebook Market Place works and is legit? Or if Im better just putting it on Trademe?

If you are willing to try a $1 reserve auction, then you could sell it with no success fees if you list it this Sunday?

That is tempting, although a reserve is extremely handy.

What are the success fee for general items like a Cellphone....?

No not yet, I didnt know we could. TY for pointing it out.

I worry about selling on FB marketplace, Im not sure why, because its buying that is the issue with many fake flagship phones etc.

You should be worried about the amount you'll get for a secondhand phone compared to whatever was paid for it.

lots of buy/sell have happened on geekzone. you should consider this if you're serious about selling.

haven't really heard of fake phones at the flagship level of any leading brand. would be quite easy to spot. far more common is that the item is encumbered (money owing) and gets locked out for non-payment by the original owner, after you've paid for it at the price they sought.

Facebook Market Place might be free, but it can be really hard work. Lots of time wasters. Lots of low-ball offers. Lots of barely intelligible correspondence due unfamiliar slang and broken/improper English.

After corresponding with about 20 people when selling a car, I ended up frustrated and selling it cheaper than planned simply because the buyer was the first to 1) have clear communications, 2) be polite (was super ridiculously polite actually) and 3) actually showed up after making an appointment.
