Everyday, a bird, nearby, calls for quite a long time. It's a monotonous bird call, basically two notes. The bird starts calling for a minute at a time, then stops for a while.

I have downloaded, Merlin Bird ID to record the bird call. The App says it is a House Sparrow, but it is definitely not.

I would attach the .wav sound file but cannot see a way of doing that.

Do you use a bird call app?

I will try BirdNET. Unfortunately, the bird in question must be having a 'duvet' day as I haven't heard it's call today.

FYI - BirdNET (as is eBird) appears to be a bird identification app from a recorded call and not from a photo. Merlin will do both.

Also, Merlin is powered by eBird.

I think we have the same bird. two tone whistle and sometimes I hear it late evening/early night time. Sounds like a cross between a pigeon and an owl.
