Treated myself for an early Xmas.... picked up :

1x PS3 Fat (not the original tho) - was working then put into storage and now powers on and off

1x PS4 Slim - working

1x Last of of Us Remastered

Controller for each system

1x Playstation 3D Screen - no glasses - very reflective screen, but is very nice, and runs at 240Hz ! https://www.theverge.com/2011/11/13/2557228/playstation-3d-display-review

All for for price of $151 :)

Then today picked up a copy of GT7 for $45.

So I'm set for Xmas :)

Anyone else treated themselves early ? Newborns don't count sorry, your treat was obviously 9 months earlier ;)

I'd been casually thinking about upgrading my eBike - no set plans, just a general desire for more / better. I've had the current Scott frame for 5-6 years now, standard commuter eBike with 500KwH battery, limited to 28km/hr. This thing is NOT my style, I prefer to push that envelope & extract more than the law allows. & then - & then - this happened:

My friend rode his GT Avalanche Elite Deluxe 500 to my workshop last week. That battery on the frame makes it look a little primitive but this is a current generation bike & available off the showroom floor & OMFG, I've never ridden such a good eBike ever before. With no effort you're smashing 50km/hr on the flat. The suspended seat is something I'd never seen before & now I never want to be without one.

I checked with my All Things Bicycles Guru - his reply "Oh yeah, my friend in Matamata makes those from motors I import. I've wound mine up to 750w & it's pure madness! You should get one." So I did, Merry Christmas Megabyte.

Buyers remorse kicked in within a day or two, not regretting the spend as such, just the options that I could have chosen, including replacing the Zero 10x that I sold around 18 months back. Another friend had recently bought himself a Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro eScooter - frightening performance - & I'm not easily scared - but showing no respect to 100km/hr open road limits on 2 wheels 15cm off the ground is way past my understanding of what's necessary for clean green, alternative urban transport.

We were chatting about eScooters & I asked him what he had before the Wolf - because nobody buys one of those for their first ride. "Had a Zero 10x, awesome scooter, got me hooked on the whole concept. Still got it actually, do you know anyone for it?" So Santa got called back in, because Megabyte has been a very good boy this year & has committed to cutting his CO2 emissions in the future.

I'm not wrapping either of these items - I already know what they are, so no surprise available. I will though, be whistling down the road at a minimum of 50km/hr & spending $0 at the gas station. Happy Santa Megabyte!!

Been a few times too many to IKEA since I live walking distance, early Xmas treat was a Bissa shoe cabinet.

Doesn't sound exciting but it's a decent space saver in my small place!

They're sold as you see it in the photo, but since there are no bicycle factories in Waikato, I'm picking that they're made from what was originally designated a push bike.

The man to talk to is Paul at The Cycle Fixery, call / iMessage / WhatsApp on 21 150 6791. He's my All Things Bicycle guru, whose profession, his passion & all-consuming hobby is bicycles. He converts bikes into eBikes to order as part of his Cycle Fixery operation. Whether you get him to do the conversion, supply the parts to do your own conversion or just get 100% reliable advice & guidance, he'll make sure you get it right.
