We just bought a AEG front loader washing machine. LF8594O8O

Never owned a front loader before.

Our previous top loader was many years old and not difficult to operate.

This new beastie is a whole different story.

Any tips from geek world to stop us making newbie mistakes?

One of the things we found we needed to make sure we do is dry the door seal on the inside where it folds back into itself, especially at the bottom where the water drains, but also around the whole door seal as there can still be some moisture trapped in there and can result in mildew growing even with leaving the door open to let the inside air out/dry.

I also try to make sure I run a maintenance wash each month to help keep the drum clean as it doesn't look like pulling the drum out to give a good clean is going to be as easy as it is with a top loader.

I also built a plinth/platform to raise the washing machine and dryer (setup side-by-side) up by about 24cm which makes loading/unloading easier by not having to bend down so low.
