Hiya Folks,'

Wife and I are currently on the Cruise Ship Island Cruise Ship Island Princess in the Port of Cartegena, Columbia.

16 day travel from Frt Lauderdale to Los Angelas via the Panama Canal. Day 4 today

Tonight we are berthed at Cartegena in Columbia.

While in port I did a speed test on Speedtest.

Result was DL 7.30 Mbps and upload 1.36.

I also use phone to tether to a Ham Radio Device and reports that its working very well with no drop outs.

So in essence im happy with the results

They are clearly limiting your devices' connection, but it's still pretty good.

How much are you paying for the Wi-Fi? The Global priority plans, which the cruise ship company will be paying for, are pretty expensive to you and i, but in the scheme of things cheap as chips for them compared to some of the other offerings around.

Historically Cruise lines have been paying an arm and leg for satellite data, particularly when at sea,

As a wholesale product, Starlink will be orders of magnitude cheaper, so that cost decline should flow through to the end user
