Anyone know of a good online retailer who can supply the following wall plates:

- hdmi
- component (or a combo plug with component/hdmi)
- satellite plug
- speaker sockets

I know jaycar can supply the hdmi socket but I couldn't find any component plates on their site. I would probably rather go with someone like jaycar though who supply a cheaper alternative to the electrical wholesalers who generally provide PDL which is twice the price.

I have to connect the following and my wife is sick of the multiple holes in the wall;

HDMI X 1, Component X 1, VGA X 1, Speakers X 5, Sub X 1, Ethernet X 1, UHF X 1

It would be nice if someone started selling larger wall plates that you could customise to suit your needs.

Sorry, forget what they're called, but why don't you use the wall plates that have snap in connectors? I've got them in the lounge with 4xethernet, and 2x F-connectors (RG-6 coax, for sat and uhf). You can get RCA (composite/component) and 3.5mm stereo blocks, not sure about HDMI - they may be a bit small.

edit: ahhh. they're the PDL plates. the price isn't that bad, and you probably only need a couple. apparently they fit HDMI, "just".

I found a business using google, wirednz. They do custom made wall plates so I emailed them for a price.

My old man is a sparky so gets the pdl stuf cheaper than most but it is still expensive. I will get him to price it for me.

The benefit of getting a custom wall plate is that you can get one large plate that has all plugs on it as opposed to 3-4 standard size wall plates bunched together.

Can you get hdmi sockets with PDL? I have searched their website and entering "hdmi" doesn't find any products. I also couldn't find anything for VGA which is another socket I need.

Is there a hdmi module from a different supplier that fits PDL wall plates?

You guys that are using PDL, what are you doing about hdmi?

PDL are meant to be bringing out a HDMI mech, however not seen it yet, a mate procured a batch of HDMI keystones that will fit in Krone pdl clips I have not arranged to get hold of them from him yet, but can supply a couple and the rest of the stuff (PDL) at a keen price.

For those that are interested I got a quote from wirednz. $230 inc GST. This would include double gang plate with:

1 X hdmi
1 X VGA
3 X f-type
1 X ethernet
1 X phone
7 X speaker binding posts
1 X component (3 RCA)
1 X sub (1 RCA)

I assume it will be spread out on two double gang plates. I'm just pricing out PDL stuff with my dad at the moment but the lack of hdmi and vga from pdl is a bit of a problem.

There are PDL compatible modlues available on ebay australia - but even that isnt down to what you get trade at JA Russels etc with a decent discount IME - Dont go in and ask for a price, the staff only see the trade price, it gets discounted to the account holder based on their dealings with the place, so the invoice will arrive later on with the discounted prices on it.
