Hi,

I'm being sent copious amounts of spam with no To/From information, thus Gmail cannot block it.

I can obtain the "Headers" information (Show Original in Gmail) -- can I block it with this?

Any help appreciated.

Do a search using Google with your email address - find out where your email address is being published and ask for it to be removed. That will help reduce some of your spam.

It's all form one person with some kind of script, which either spoofs or sends without a to/from section.

I have the e-mail address on my website, that's probably why.. and in a few forum signatures.

Cheers, but I'm more looking for a way to filter these unmarked e-mails.

Fix these up first, you will notice a drop in your spam count.  Remove your email off your website and replace with a contact form.  On any forum signatures, put your email in this format: user at mydomain dot com.

Setup a filter in GMail that any emails not addressed to you get put in spam.  It will catch any legitimate group emails, but just keep checking your spam filter every now and then.

That's the funny thing, these messages contain *nothing* so there's nothing Google can ID about them. Adding them to a Filter (clicking the reply dropdown in the message and adding it that way) doesn't work, it should be inserting the information about the message into the adding filter window but it doesn't add anything, becasue there is nothing -- thus not detecting the messages or being able to continue with the filter.

Btw, some organisation doesn't have my address -- it's just one individual trying to be funny (each e-mail originates from the same place and this has never happened before).

I'm not really following - can you post a screenshot of what it looks like in GMail (make sure you blank out your email address)?

I have deleted them all and no more have been sent since, fingers crossed that it's stopped for good...

I took this at the time though:

Ah now I understand.  I'm surprised GMail would let this through.

Take a look at the headers of the email (on the top right of the message, click the drop down arrow and click "Original Message").  This should give you a good idea of where it's coming from.

It got through but was automatically delegated to Spam. I may e-mail Google about not being able to block it. I do have the information from the headers saved (it was definitely just one skiddie).

Cheers for your help.
