The first main trailer for this came out at Comic-con in the last few days, viewable here - Starts on Syfy (was sci-fi channel) in early October.

I sent Sky TV an e-mail as soon as I saw it asking if they intend on picking this series up (expecting a "uhhh whats SGU?" answer), but the reply I got was they confirm they are going to screen it next year and its on Prime TV's shopping list, they are just waiting for the buying-rights.

Sky will most likely show it in 12 months time but not in HD unless they upgrade prime to HD.. That is assuming TVNZ doesn't have the rights as they did with SG1 which means some years away and on a Saturday afternoon..

I really liked SG1, I thought Atlantis was fine but not as good as SG1. I have a feeling Universe will be a bridge too far aka beating a dead horse but I'm happy to be proved wrong.

After watching that Trailer, I see a sudden similarity to another franchise...

SG1 -> ST:TNG
SG:A -> ST:DS9
SG:U -> ST:VOY .....

anyone else see this?

Damn, I hope not. I liked SG1 and SG:A. I hope that SG:U doesn't become a Voyager.

I also we get it in reasonable time and in a decent timeslot. That is unlikely to happen if TVNZ get their hand on it.

Dammit, we ned a dedicated Science Fiction channel (as well as a dedicated motorport channel).

I'd go on a Vegan diet but the delivery time from Vega is too long.
